Things to know about RV Parks on Hilton Head

Hilton Head RV Parks offer a resort style stay with great amenities and everything you would expect to find at a luxury RV resort. There are however only 2 RV Parks located on the island and there are restrictions on both.

So before you plan to camp on the island of Hilton Head, make sure your camping unit fits the requirements of the park. There are however other campgrounds nearby that meet or even exceed those on the island.

RV Park Restrictions on Hilton Head Island

First let stake a look at the two RV parks on HiltonHead Island in regard to restrictions:

  • Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort: This resort is a Motorcoach resort, that means that only Class A and Class C motorhomes are aloud. And if the motorhome is older than 10 years it needs management approval to stay. So if you travel with anything other than a class A or class C motorhome, you are not permitted to stay here.
  • Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort: This resort does not allow camping units with slide outs. They do allow, travel trailers, 5th wheels and motorcoaches, although it can not have a slide out. The length must be under 35 feet long and 8 feet wide. So if you do not fit these requirements, do not reserve here.

So with all that being said, not every unit is permitted to camp on the island. If you want to be as close to Hilton Head Island as possible but your unit is not permitted to stay at one of the two resorts on the island, your best choice is the Hilton Head National RV Resort.

So lets take a look at all the options at RV parks near Hilton Head SC.
