From the days of Woodstock people have congregated and continue to love the music festival experience. And country music fans are no exception. So, if you are a festival goer and looking for the best country music festivals in New York and surrounding areas, you are in the right place. This post has all the info on where to find NY country music festivals to attend this year.
There are a lot of country festivals in North America, although only a few in New York state. With that being said, a couple newer festivals have popped up in the past few years. So there are more festival options than before. And for all you country fans, I also included concert tours in NY for many of country music’s biggest stars. So grab your cowboy hat and boots and get ready for some live music and lots of fun!
NY Country Music Festivals in 2023
1. Taste of Country Music Festival
Where: Hunter Mountain, NY

2. Concert in the Catskills
When: June 24, 2023
Where: Historic Catskill Point, Catskill, NY
Enjoy an evening of music overlooking the Hudson River. Country music is back in Greene county with three artists including headliner Michael Ray. Tickets start at $35 and VIP package for $75. Doors open 6pm and concert starts at 7:30pm. Tickets go on sale March 24th.
3. Outlaw Music Festival (2 Nights, 2 Locations)
When: July 29, 2023
Where: Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Bethel, NY
When: July 30, 2023
Where: Darien Lake Amphitheater, Darien, NY
The Outlaw Music Festival has over 25 concerts all over the United States with two dates scheduled in New York. This festival is a celebration of Willie Nelson’s life with country music and other artists. Your favorite artists performing in New York include Willie Nelson & Family, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Gov’t Mule, Kathleen Edwards and Particle Kid. Tickets start at $54 and the festival features village vendors, local food, drinks and shopping.
4. Buffalo’s Country Music Festival
When: August 4 & 5, 2023
Where: Backlot Entertainment Venue, Akron, NY
This is the 2nd annual Buffalo Country Music Festival. The festival features 2 nights of music with Zac Brown Tribute Band on Friday night and Rodney Atkins on Saturday night. Tickets start at $20 and $40 depending on the show. Parking is FREE with food trucks and other vendors on site.
5. Catbird Music Festival
When: August 19 & 20, 2023
Where: Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Bethel, NY
While not exactly a country music festival, it does have plans to include country music artists in the future. Catbird festival will be held on the same grounds as the famous Woodstock Music & Art Festival. This years line up include the Lumineers, Tyler Childers, War on Drugs, Band of Horses and many others. Tickets are on sale now at the lowest price, so get yours before the price goes up.
This brand new festival is one you’ll want to add to your music camping bucket list. As the festival promotion company runs other big name events like Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits. Car camping, RV camping and glamping options will be available at the festival, located in the heart of the Sullivan Catskills.

6. Finger Lakes Country Music Festival
When: September 23, 2023
Where: Wayne County Fairgrounds, NY
This is also the 2nd annual Finger Lakes Country Music Festival at Wayne County Fairgrounds. This years festivals line up includes Claudia Hoyser, Conner Smith and Riley Green. Tickets start at $49. Doors open at 4:30pm however the exact times of the festival are TBD.
7. Trail Blazer
When: October 6 – 8, 2023
Where: Hunter Mountain, NY
There is limited information on this festival at this time. It appears to be held at the same location as Taste of Country. Will update as information becomes available.
