This FREE 3 day family friendly hot air balloon festival has been around for over 40 years. It includes hot air balloon launches, night glow, fireworks, craft vendors, food vendors, musical entertainment and children’s activities.
2. Ashland Ohio BalloonFest
When: June 22 – 24, 2023
Where: Freer Field, Ashland, OH

3. Coney Island Balloon Glow
When: July 3, 2023
Where: Coney Island, Cincinnati, OH

4. Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon & Skydiving Festival
When: July 21 & 22, 2023
Where: Smith Park, Middleton, OH
This 2 day annual event is open from 5pm to 10:30pm and cost $5 per person 13 and up. The event includes, hot air balloons, night glow, car show, fireworks show, tethered hot air balloon rides, carnival rides, helicopter rides and more.
5. Balloon Classic
When: July 28 – 30, 2023
Where: Kent State University Stark Campus, Canton OH
Balloon Classic is a free event and part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival. The event has 5 scheduled flights for the hot air ballon festival. Friday night is the balloon glow and Saturday night is fireworks. There will be fair food, kids areas and musical entertainment on both nights. And tethered hot air balloon rides will also be available.
6. Defiance Balloon Festival
When: August 5, 2023
Where: Defiance County Airport, Defiance, OH
A full day of balloon activities! From breakfast to food trucks, hot air balloon flights, 5K run or walk, kids area, balloon glow and so much more. Admission price is $15 per car and addition fees for rides and activities. Also make sure to bring your own lawn chairs so you can comfortably enjoy the event.
7. All Ohio Balloon Festival
When; August 10 – 12, 2023
Where: Union County Airport, Marysville, OH
Tickets can be purchased for this 3 day event on the website including GA and concert events. This years bands include the legendary Beach Boys and the Wallflowers. Other activities include hot air balloon rides, biplane rides, kids area, food vendors and more. Entrance is located on 1500 Weaver Road with $5 parking fee.
8. Flag City Balloonfest
When: August 11 – 13, 2023
Where: Emory Adams Park, Findlay, OH
This three-day event has free admission to the festival. You can however purchase hot air balloon rides, early entry to the hot air balloon glow and the car and motorcycle show. The festival will also have food and craft vendors.
9. Balloons Off Broadway
When: mid August 2023
Where: Beulah Park, Grove City. OH
This Friday & Saturday night event includes tethered balloon rides, night glow, hot air ballon launch, live music and more. Make sure to bring your own lawn chair to enjoy the show.
10. Ravenna Balloon A-Fair
When: September 14 – 17, 2023
Where: Sunbeau Valley Farm, Ravenna, OH
Get ready for 4 days of fun filled activities. The event kicks off with Thursday with a children’s parade downtown Ravenna. On Friday the festival events include live music, hot air ballon glow, food vendors, wine vendors, axe throwing, mechanical bull rides and helicopter rides. Then on Saturday, you can also enjoy the grand parade, food and craft vendors, more live music, hot air balloon launch, static display, Jeep show and fireworks. Sunday is also filled with a variety of events. Cost is $5 per person per day and children under 12 are free.
