List of sunflower fields in Michigan updated June 19, 2023
Why do sunflowers always make you smile? The beautiful bright yellow flowers just make you happy. And the state of Michigan has so many sunflower farms to visit this sunflower season. Depending on the location and variety of the sunflower, the full bloom could be anywhere from late July to early September. You can get your sunflower fix from a small family-run farm to a larger farm full of family activities and everything in between. So mark you calendars because we have a list of dates and places for 17 great sunflower fields in Michigan to visit.
What month do sunflowers bloom in Michigan?
Sunflowers bloom in late summer in Michigan. That can mean anywhere from late July through early September depending on the weather and location.

List of Sunflower Fields in Michigan for 2023
1. Gull Meadow Farms
Dates: August 18-20 and 25-27 Friday 12pm to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm
Admission Fee: $15.99 per person, adults and children 36″ and taller need a ticket to enter
Location: 8544 Gull Road Richland MI
With over 30 different varieties of sunflowers in 5 acres of sunflowers your Sunflower Days ticket includes admission to the field, one u pick bloom to take home, wagon ride and other family fun activities. You can also add on a bucket of blooms to your purchase. The farm has many activities such as seasonal special events, corn maze, pumpkin patch and petting farms and so much more. The farm is full of activities for the whole family.

2. Gust Flowers and Produce
Dates: Opening Mid July, 10am to 8pm while sunflowers are in bloom. Check facebook page for current status.
Admission Fee: $5 for Sunflower Trail
Location: 11998 Rodesiler Hwy, Ottawa Lake MI
Enjoy a stroll through the 5 acre sunflower trail with some great spots for photos, with tractor, truck and swing props. $10 for u-pick mason jar full of sunflowers and other flower picking. Cash and check only. U-pick produce also available and new this year is the country store with refreshments and Amish goods for sale. Check the facebook page for up to date bloom status.
3. Grandpa Tiny’s Heritage Farm
Dates: August 4-6
Admission Fee: $17
Location: 7775 Weiss Street, Frankenmuth MI
Enjoy acres of sunflowers at the Frankenmuth Flower Festival. Tickets include access to the sunflower fields and one take home u pick flower. Other festival activities are Dinner in the Sunflowers, Sunflower Fun Color Run, Yoga, Hot Air Balloon Rides, Live Music, Craft vendors and food trucks at Grandpa Tiny’s Farm. Make sure to get your tickets for extra activities.
4. Westview Orchards & Winery
Dates: August TBD
Admission Fee: Varies for activity
Location: 65075 Van Dyke, Washington MI
It’s the 5th Annual Sunflower Days and you can choose from Sunflower Days general admission, sunset general admission, butterflies and blooms and other special events. General admissions includes access to the sunflower fields, wagon ride, 3 acre playground and Westview barnyard animals. Sunflower picking available to purchase on site for single, six or bucket of blooms.

5. Schell Family Farm
Dates: Open starting early August, Thursday to Sunday 9am to 4pm
Admission Fee: $7 per adult to enter flower field/kids are free
Location: 10055 Dexter-Pinckney Rd, Pinckney, MI
A first generation farm that opened to the public in 2019. Offering other u-pick items such as peaches and corn. And other market items available for purchase too.
6. Liefde Farm
2023 Update: They will not be open this season due to a barn fire
Dates: Open early August, Daily until dusk
Free Admission: Donation Box for sunflowers and photographers pay a $15 session fee
Location: 9422 104th Ave Zeeland MI
A hobby farm in West Michigan growing strawberries, blueberries, sunflowers and honey. Please drive carefully and watch out for kids, cats and a dog. Check facebook page for current sunflower status.
7. Deep Roots
Dates: Dates TBD Weather permitting. Will be open for 3 weeks
Admission Fee: $8
Location: 8570 84th Street SE, Caledonia MI
Walk through the sunflower maze and then visit the area for u pick sunflowers. Fresh produce is available and other activities on the farm include petting farm, hayrides and special events.
8. Hall Farms
Dates: Sunflowers planted on May 26. Opening dates TBD. Open 10a to sunset while sunflowers are in bloom. Check facebook page for current status.
Free Admission: Donations Accepted
Location: 2623 St. Nicholas 31st Road Rock MI
Located in the upper peninsula. This 20 acre field will have two viewing platforms to see the beautiful sunflowers from above along with wooden cuts and other photo props. There is a small fee for the u-pick sunflowers.

9. Debuck’s Sunflower Farm
Dates: August 9-27 Wed-Sun (W-F 10am to 4pm) (Sat-Sun 10am to 6pm)
Admission Fee: $12 and up
Location: 50240 Martz Road, Belleville MI
Online tickets only. General admission includes access to 15 acres of sunflower fields to look and take photos in the fields, addition to all the farm attractions. GA ticket does not include cut flowers but other packages do. Food, drinks, and flowers are available for an additional cost. Check the website for other ticket options.
10. Zilke Vegetable Farm
Dates: August 4-24 10am to 7pm
Admission Fee: $4 to $10 per person depending on date and time
Location: 12491 Carpenter Rd, Milan, MI
Visit the 23 acres of beautiful sunflowers, as Zilke Sunflower festival was featured in Country Living’s list of must see flower fields in the US. New for 2023 the Sunflower Labyrinth.
11. Gorby Sunflowers
Dates: Sunflowers have been planted. Opening Day TBD. Open morning till dusk while sunflowers in bloom. Check facebook page for current status.
Free Admission: Take donations for planting and field maintenance
Location: 2426 30th Street Allegan MI
What started as a hobby has turned into so much more! Gorby Sunflowers grows for you and birds and mostly the bees, so they are pesticide free. So the flowers may not be perfect but they are beautiful. Selling flowers and taking donations at the roadside stand. Professional photographers are welcome as are pets on a leash. They ask you share the word on social media #gorbysunflowers.
12. Degen Farms
Dates: Opening Day TBD. Sunflowers planted on May 22. Check the facebook page for current status.
Admission Fee: $2 to walk the maze
Location: 10516 Old 99 Road, Montague, MI
A family owned and operated farm with 50 acres of sunflowers. You can enjoy a walk through the sunflower maze with several photos ops. $2 stems available for purchase and $25 a day for photo shoots. A small area with homemade sunflower items for sale.

13. Munsell Farms
Dates: Opening Day TBD
2023 Update: Have not seen any info on sunflowers as of 6/19/23
Free Admission : Donations accepted
Location: 6850 Mason Road, Fowlerville MI
A family owned farm with a small u cut flower area and a very small kid friendly sunflower maze. Donation stations on property.
14. Rasch Sunflower Maze
Dates: Starting in September
Admission Fee: TBD
Location: 17647 40th Avenue Conklin MI
Enjoy a stroll though the 3 acres sunflower maze with props and photo opps along the way. There is also a corm maze on property. And after the sunflowers wilt, it will become a haunted sunflower maze in October.
15. Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill
Dates: August 11 – 13 10am to 5pm
Admission Fee: $10 and up per person, children under 10 free
Location: 17985 Armada Center Rd, Armada, MI
Blakes’s Sunflower Festival takes place over the holiday weekend. Stroll through the festival shops, take a walk through the sunflower fields, cut your own sunflowers and enjoy endless photo opportunities. Tickets include entry to artisan market, free classes, DIY sunflower workshops, u-pick sunflowers, wildflower, fruits and vegetables along with free parking.

16. The Wild Pumpkin
Dates: Dates TBD
Admission Fee: $7 per person, children 1 and under are free
Location: 5799 Beaverton Rd, Beaverton MI
A u-pick sunflower field also with mum and wildflower u-pick flowers to see and purchase. Admission includes: Animal petting farm, wagon rides, corn maze, playground, corn box and hay/straw maze. With fresh eggs, jams, pumpkins and salted caramel apple donuts available seasonally.
17. Lewis Adventure Farm and Zoo
Dates: August 5 – September 24 (Saturdays 10am to 6pm) (Sundays 10am to 5pm) plus Labor Day
Admission Fee: TBD
Location: 4180 M-20, New Era, MI
Explore the field of sunflowers with over 30 varieties of colorful blooms with lots of photo opps! U-pick flowers available for purchase. Also stay and enjoy the farm fun attractions with family friendly activities such as apple picking, corn maze, petting zoo, games and so much fun.
