There is however only one campground located on the island. And it fills up fast during peak season. So if that’s where you want to stay, I would make your reservation as soon as possible.

Tybee Island Campgrounds
River's End Campground
Rivers End Campground is the only campground located on Tybee Island. It's tucked back into a residential area and only a few blocks walking distance to get to the sandy beaches. This RV Park offers tent sites, rv sites and cabin rentals. It has a swimming pool, bath house with hot showers, and very helpful staff. If you want to camp on Tybee Island, this is your only option. Thankfully it's a good one. The island is not that big, so pack your bicycles so you can ride around and explore.
Skidaway Island State Park
A beautiful Georgia state park that many people enjoy is Skidaway State Park. This great campground is full of live oaks with spanish moss and borders part of the intracoastal waterway. Camp sites include electric and water with a dump station on site. The campground has boat ramp access and hiking trails into the maritime forests. Skidaway is about 45 minutes from Tybee Island and 25 minutes from historic Savannah.
Red Gate Farms RV Resort | Savannah GA | Charming Countryside
Red Gate Campground is the closest camping to the city of Savannah and about 40 minutes from Tybee Island. This campground offers full hookup RV sites with many other campground amenities such as pool, laundry, bathhouse, free wifi and more. Walking trails and horse back rides are available through the property along with great fishing and an onsite supply store.
RV Resorts in Savannah, Georgia | Creekfire Resort
Creekfire Resort offers creekside RV campsites and cottage rentals. It's about 50 minutes from Tybee Island and 25 minutes from downtown Savannah. The campgrond has an onsite restaurant, heated pool, hot tub, lazy river open during season, hiking, pickleball and many more activities. There is lots to do at Creek Fire RV Resort, you may not want to leave the resort.
Richmond Hill, Georgia Campground | Savannah South KOA Holiday
Located about 30 minutes from downtown Savannah and about an hour to Tybee Island, Jekyll Island and Hilton Head. This makes the KOA a great location if you are planning to take many day trips to the surrounding areas. They offer full hookup rv sites, tent sites with water and electric service and cabin rentals. Amenities include laundry, bath house, free wifi, cable tv and propane filling and large dog park.
Fort McAllister State Park
Fort Mcallister is about an hour from Tybee Island. This Georgia state park is known for its "best preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy." At this park you can view cannons, bombproof barracks, museum and other civil war related historic sites. Camping includes tent, trailer and RV campsites with electric and water hook ups. The beautiful park has boat ramp access, fishing dock, nature trials and picnic table for day use with river views.
Savannah Lakes RV Resort | Hardeeville, SC
A brand new RV Park scheduled to open in March 2023. It is part of a larger group that manages campgrounds in Arizona. It's less than an hour from Tybee Island.
Hilton Head National RV Resort | Bluffton, SC
If you also plan to visit Hilton Head or Charleston, consider camping in South Carolina. This campground is just minutes from Hilton Head and a little over an hour to Tybee Island. This large campground offers resort style amenities and sits adjacent to an award winning golf course. It's big rig friendly and allows all styles of camping units.
RV Resorts in Hardeeville, South Carolina | Lake Jasper RV Village
Jasper Village is a new lakeside resort and considered a gateway to Hilton Head Island. All sites are full hook up with cable TV and wifi. There are lakefront or interior sites available, but no tents or cabin rentals at this time. Other amenities include swimming pool, laundry, bath house, hiking, fishing, disc golf, horseshoes and a community fire pit.
Edisto Beach State Park | Edisto Island, SC
This South Carolina State Park is one of only four state parks located on the ocean. It's one of the best places to stay on the South Carolina coast. However it is located farther away from Tybee Island then the other campgrounds. Camping sites allow 40ft or less camping equipment with electric and water hook ups. Amenities include restrooms, hot showers, beach access, park activities and wifi at the camp office.
